WHERE: all around town, in a variety of places!

WHAT: an open prompt for quest 29’s skeletons (eating them), and whatever else comes up!
WARNINGS: he’s eating bones.

i. NO BONES ABOUT IT (OPEN)

[ dextera used to have a pretty healthy habit for eating bones—it used to be his thing, in fact, but lately he hasn’t had as much of a reason to eat them with all the color popping back up around town. they still provide some nutritional value to him, though, considering the way his body works, and what better to start hoarding for winter than by disassembling skeletons and biting right through their brittle bodies?

throughout the month, catch him doing this exact thing. sometimes he defeats the skeletons before chomping them, and sometimes he just rips the arm off one with his teeth like a dog. the latter, however, he’s only doing if he thinks no one is watching. ]

ii, but new. SEXY NUN COSTUME (~10/17 - 10/19)

[ dextera got this costume from carving a pumpkin, and it’s probably going to stay on him for a solid three days. he can’t hide in his house for the whole time, especially once the harvest festival starts up, but he also doesn’t want to be seen in it—so of course, people have to see him in it, because that’s the way rp works.

whenever he does have to leave his house, he tries to wear a coat, but the unfortunate reality of this outfit is that still leaves his habit, the jewelry, the socks, and the heels to see from practically any angle. a more discerning eye will definitely see upon looking at him from the front that he’s wearing a dress that was definitely meant for someone with breasts. he’s wobbly walking around in the first place, and it’s only by the grace of god that the few times he trips, the back of his coat is long enough to keep from flashing his ass to the world.

( dex thinks no one is looking, sure. and yuu definitely intended for it to feel that way, ratty sheet thrown over his head while he carefully steps his way closer, moves as quietly as he possibly can as he moves closer, closer still--

and stops entirely when dex rips an arm off of a skelly, which was cool except he's eating it??? what a weirdo. and here he thought startling dex when he was in the middle of fighting was the absolute perfect time. )

[ so that bit of bone dextera just chomped up into his mouth? she's giving it a whack with... the arm of another skeleton, which she's carting around like a weapon. just hyrule things. ]

[ it’s silly. dextera knows it’s silly, but he needs the levity before he goes insane—there’s so much on his mind, some of it related to ryo and some of it not, that if he doesn’t do something absolutely ridiculous then he’s going to crack under the pressure.

so, within a few days of seeing the quest go up, he decides to take a chance and knock on ryo’s door without even messaging first. if ryo has no treat, however, he has no treat! dextera is not exactly the type of person to trick someone, especially not someone like ryo. ]

[ Fushimi doesn't actually know how goddamn weird Dextera is. It's not like he knows anything about weird cults or false gods or real gods or sexual metaphors; his life is pretty straightforward, and there's a considerable lack of symbolism in it. What he knows of Dextera is, largely: he doesn't talk, he's dating Guren (so he must be a Good Person), he's friendly, he's nearly always smiling, he has a brother (and there are Issues), and he died that one time.

Which means -- for Fushimi -- it's really goddamn weird to see Dextera casually mauling a bone like it's a complete meal. ]

There's.

Food. [ Fushimi blurts it a little awkwardly, because he's trying his best not to mutter "what the hell", because it's Dextera, and he (for better or for worse), likes Dextera (gross, if you ask him). ]

You don't need to eat bones. [ Why are you eating bones. Guren is never allowed to chide Fushimi about his diet EVER AGAIN because Fushimi doesn't EAT BONES. ]

[ What should've been a simple trick or treat led to something else when Ryo discovered a power he didn't know he had. He's so confused and frustrated; he never cared about his past but ever since that memory swap he's been itching to unearth the truth and he wishes he didn't feel this way. It was easier when it didn't matter to him.

The day has almost completely surrendered to the night with only a little light remaining as the sun sinks beyond the horizon. Ryo's packing dried fruit into jars and putting them away in the pantry, occasionally sliding a glance toward the hallway. Dextera should be here soon... ]

[Thank goodness there was someone around to chomp the skeleton outside her house for her. Otherwise she'd never have been able to leave or even to poke her head out the house and see Dextera ripping off a bony arm.

Unsure (for once?) Shiho gives him a dubious look, holding tight onto the door as if she were more than ready to duck back in and hide.]

....Don't eat that. You don't know where it's been.

[ They've gotten previews of Dextera's eating habits before, but they've certainly never witnessed bones before. Luckily for him they have no way of knowing that this is completely unnatural, other than by the fact that they've just never seen any other human do that, which could be coincidence. So, they're surprisingly accepting of it, aside from their usual disgust towards eating in general.

Cairngorm knocks a skeleton back of their own with the blunt edge of their blade, watching him chomp at the one he'd knocked down himself. ]

Isn't that hard to eat? Aren't your— [ whats the word again.. ] teeth, made of the same material?

Eugh!

[ WELP Michael absolutely did not ever need to know what the sound of human teeth crunching up debatably human bones sounded like, but that sure is knowledge that is now in his thinkpan! ]

Dude! You're not in the apocalypse anymore, we don't have to eat bones here!

[ is Michael now internally putting down most of Dextera's grosser habits to 'the monster apocalypse'?? PERHAPS ]

[With everyone caught up in the Halloween festivities, someone like Izuku easily can't help but get excited, too. Maybe a little too excited, though.

When Dextera finds him, Izuku's already done with one, decorated with fangs and dragon wings, and he's starting to sketch a design on another. There's also an actual stack of pumpkins next to him... maybe Dextera should take one or two off his hands?]

[Minato hasn't yet been plagued with terrible Halloween costumes, and has also yet to see anyone in one, which means...

It definitely takes him super off-guard when he turns a corner, his arms full of veggies for dinner, and comes face to face with...

Well.

Dex.

But Dex in a sexy nun costume. And even for Minato, he needs a minute; his mouth opens...and closes, as no words are found.]

[Guren should have known that the apple products would do something strange like this. There are strange feelings hitting him before he can deal with it, and the desire to kiss or hold someone are so strong that it's a little alarming. Beyond that, there's something else there...

But that doesn't get realized until he sees Dextera wearing that. No, not just wearing that, but wearing it in public, trying to hide even with people walking this way or that. Something burns in his chest and he acts without thinking, going off of feeling. He moves over quickly, grabbing Dextera from the wrist from behind and yanking him harshly back, turning him so he can face him. They're close, now, just an inch or two apart, but Guren's body is doing the blocking.]

What the hell are you wearing?

I see you made the mistake of carving a pumpkin, too.

[ Dextera isn't the one stuck in a terrible outfit; Ryo is currently wearing this little getup. It's a little embarrassing, but he decided not to let that get in the way of going about his business as usual—besides, knowing the town's twisted sense of humour, it probably won't come off if he tries to hole himself up in his house for the rest of the week, anyway. ]

[ Oh god. Is he okay? It looks like his ankle is hurt somehow with the way he's wobbling around. Obviously they don't think him clearly wearing heels or a slightly different wardrobe is too out of the ordinary— why would it be? They're just clothes and shoes. But they're a short distance away when he trips and lands flat on the ground, and they're feeling a little more like taking pity on him than pretending that they didn't see what happened at all to save face.

So they approach, adorned in their own snexy outfit and high heels— though he would know by now that walking in heels is a day in the park for them. ]

Dextera? Are you alright...

[ They don't offer a hand to help him up (they're super cold from the weather), but they do give him a slightly concerned look as they stand over him. ]

[ dextera didn’t actually tell lupin what he was asking for, when he invited the gentleman thief to the well, but it’s probably obvious enough with the quest—if lupin is thinking about it at all, really. it’s just as likely that dextera brought him there to confess or something romantic, but no! it’s much worse than that.

when he sees lupin’s approach, he raises a hand in greeting, a crystal floating just slightly, glowing, above his other hand. hm.

he looks relatively somber, even compared to his usual gloom, which probably strikes out any possibility that this was an invitation for leisure. it’s just that he didn’t want to bring guren, or honestly, anyone who would know too intimately what this little crystal is. with their conversation last month, too, about memories and the past, it felt appropriate to bring someone who would understand the importance of letting go. ]
