WHO: Minato and youuuu
WHERE: The town, the woods, everywhere in between
WHEN: June 3 - June 10
WHAT: Lack of sleep does some unfortunate things to people, it really does. ie punishments really, really suck
WARNINGS: A lot of this is just very, very dumb
June 3/4
[At first, he's just miserable. A night or two without sleep is doable, but really, really awful, and so Minato can be found mostly wandering, restless, especially late at night. Which is very, very unusual for him (usually he'd be asleep by now), but don't mind him as he stalks about the town with his hands shoved deeply into his pockets, occasionally stopping to yawn massively and lean against a wall.
He always ends up standing back up pretty promptly, though, no matter how sleepy he looks.
Weird.
Or he might come visit at some obscene hour of the morning if he thinks your character will be awake, almost desperate to talk to someone to get his mind off of this. He will definitely knock on doors at all hours of the night if he thinks your character would sincerely be awake at that time of night.
Please help him.]
June 5/6
[It gets much, much worse. Minato's wanderings are almost desperate now; lying down does nothing, leaning against things does nothing, he cannot sleep no matter what he does and it's starting to take its toll. He's definitely stumbling, staggering occasionally as if drunk, and if you try to stop him he may not even process that you're calling out to him.
Hm.
Worrisome.
It probably comes to a worrisome head when he's crossing one of the bridges in Bluo, feet dragging--and then sways, and topples right off the side, blacking out for a brief moment. Bye, Minato.]
June 8
[At this point he probably shouldn't be outside but he's here anyway, and he seems to be...talking to a tree? He's trying, but he clearly thinks it's someone he knows, and while his voice is low and slurred, he is trying to legitimately have a conversation with this tree.
It's probably a good thing he stopped to talk to the tree instead of wandering into the woods in this state? Maybe you should call out to him...
But he's definitely hallucinating, and only seems to notice if he's not interrupted when he stumbles, and knocks his head against said tree, startling back to himself abruptly with both hands clasped to his forehead.
And then he thumps his forehead against the tree again, this time purposefully and with plain aggravation.]

dextera wasn’t going to interrupt his conversation with the tree, but it’s when minato goes in for the kill after bumping his head that he thinks, perhaps, this should be interrupted. ]
...
[ the way he decides to go about this is so very gently tapping minato on the shoulder. if minato lashes out, so be it, but this is for the safety of him and the tree!! ]

it's not often that he finds someone else out and about at this hour, so when he spots a person nearby that's enough to grab his attention. he contemplates calling out to them, but before he can make a decision, said person just... goes and topples right off the bridge.
welp. so much for a casual hello.
dirk instantly flashsteps over to the bridge before launching himself after the falling figure, managing to catch him just in time before he can hit the water, coming to float a few inches above it. ]
Whoa dude, are you okay?
[ have no fear, an apparent doppelganger of a good friend is here?? ]
no subject
Damn. For a very brief moment, he really does think it's Dave, because this wouldn't be the first time Dave has snagged him out of midair, and also because he is suffering the effects of sleep deprivation.
So.
Sorry, Dirk; he rubs an eye blearily, but is still definitely yawning and:]
Sorry, Dave... didn't realize I was so close to the edge... I guess...

Oh! Minato-k--

[ Yeah, this may be the fastest she's flown to someone's side here, and she's instantly grasping his shoulders, peering at him with an expression of extreme distress. ]
What happened?? Who hurt you?!
[ This would perhaps make more sense, dear reader, when seen through Maya's eyes, as Minato is definitely bleeding from the head and looks like he's been run over by some manner of very rude vehicle. ]

So he definitely hears the knock, and though it takes a moment for him to disentangle himself from Estelle without disturbing her, it's the kind of thing he's thankfully pretty good at, so Minato isn't left waiting too long before he makes it to the door, opens it, and...seeing him there, slips outside so as to talk without waking anybody else in his (rather crowded) house up. ]
Everything okay?
[ He's guessing no. Minato does not seem like the kind of guy who comes around to say hi at two in the morning. ]

Minato blinks blearily at Joshua...and again. And once more, slowly.

6/8.... tree talk..
He remembers Minato, though. He hasn't spoken with him since he first got here, so he'll carefully walk over. Also, surprise! Looks like he's in different clothes now, sporting a tee shirt and shorts. Shorts that are just right above the knee. Yes, he's modest finally.
He taps him on the shoulder. ]
Hey, buddy. Um. You alright?
no subject
It is definitely a good thing to have some self-realizations, but... also, no, don't talk to trees.
The tap on his shoulder does interrupt his conversation; Minato blinks sleepily, looks over his shoulder, and:]
It's...
[A yawn, one that he has to cover up with a hand out of startled bewilderment.]
... [Uh.
Usually he's not this bad with names, shit.

That said, even if he's awake, it's still the middle of the night. He doesn't jump when he hears the knock at his door, but you can bet it takes a little extra time for him to answer it as he does some brief surveillance to make sure it's not some new monster trying to get the jump on him.
Nope. Just Minato. Which... isn't great, either. ]
Minato? What are you doing awake? [ he doesn't exactly open the door up. He opens it just enough for him to peek through, hiding the rest of his body out of sight. Which isn't very characteristic of the spotlight-loving thief. ]
no subject
[Minato has been kind of out of it a little today, and doesn't even seem to realize that it is ass o'clock! That's probably fine, right?
He's still noting that Lupin is definitely keeping the door mostly shut, though, which gets a blank blink out of Minato. Hang on...]

[ For some reason, Haru is fluent in typo. It isn't true, in fact, she's definitely not okay... But she's dealing. ]
You don't seem well. Are you cold? If your fingers are numb, try tucking them under the pits of your arms. [ She can't just say armpits, apparently. ]
no subject
But he's glad she's okay! he can process the message he got in return, but... not necessarily the bit about his armpits.
He's definitely like.
Trying to process that, and then trying to try that, and then conking out for five seconds on his laptop's keyboard, so all Haru gets is:]

Arisato-kun!
[ Thankfully, Akechi happened to be in the right place at the right time, but just barely. With a quick dash, he manages to grab... whatever was left of Minato still on this side of the bridge (his midriff? hips? a foot???) and pull him-- or maybe tackle him, if needed-- back to safety. But seriously, wtf man?? ]
That was a close call! Are you all right?
no subject
That was...definitely a close one. Not that Minato's entirely aware--not until Akechi tackles him right to the bridge properly, away from the way.
Don't worry, hitting the ground definitely jolts him awake. Guh...]
...Akechi-san...?

So.
Minato probably wouldn't expect Elizabeth to be awake, but she's not really hard to miss. She's not too far from her house, but she's sitting on a bench with a candle set in a dish by her side. It's just a tiny bit of light, but like Minato, as long as she's awake, she's trying to distract herself. The book in her lap is a fairly large one, but more notably than that, it has color.
When she hears footsteps, she looks up from the book tiredly, but her expression does shift to recognition quickly. ]
Minato?
no subject
Though then he processes, blinking blearily, stepping back to look at her properly (and stifling a yawn as he does).
They're both doing great at this late hour tonight, clearly.]

But she isn't prepared for how wrong it feels to see nothing. At least it's convenient when Minato knocks his head against the tree a second time. Now she can reach out (with only the slightest hesitation out of habit) to hold onto the back of his shirt.]
...Stop that. [No, she really doesn't know if he's bored or if something's wrong and this annoys her more than she'd ever thought possible.]
no subject
He pauses at that tug against the back of his shirt, slowly lifting his head to look at her with an incredibly exhausted expression. It takes him a moment to process--

Instead, Bruce catches him and holds him tight, walking away from the bridge and places where Minato can just get his ass dunked. Instead he'll just walk for a bit until Minato wakes up again, not quite trusting the guy to be set down and not get himself into trouble again. When he wakes up, here's Bruce, giving a raised eyebrow down at him even as he keeps carrying him in his arms.
It's kind of like trying to rock a baby to sleep, tbh. ]
