WHO: Minato and youuuu
WHERE: The town, the woods, everywhere in between
WHEN: June 3 - June 10
WHAT: Lack of sleep does some unfortunate things to people, it really does. ie punishments really, really suck
WARNINGS: A lot of this is just very, very dumb
June 3/4
[At first, he's just miserable. A night or two without sleep is doable, but really, really awful, and so Minato can be found mostly wandering, restless, especially late at night. Which is very, very unusual for him (usually he'd be asleep by now), but don't mind him as he stalks about the town with his hands shoved deeply into his pockets, occasionally stopping to yawn massively and lean against a wall.
He always ends up standing back up pretty promptly, though, no matter how sleepy he looks.
Weird.
Or he might come visit at some obscene hour of the morning if he thinks your character will be awake, almost desperate to talk to someone to get his mind off of this. He will definitely knock on doors at all hours of the night if he thinks your character would sincerely be awake at that time of night.
Please help him.]
June 5/6
[It gets much, much worse. Minato's wanderings are almost desperate now; lying down does nothing, leaning against things does nothing, he cannot sleep no matter what he does and it's starting to take its toll. He's definitely stumbling, staggering occasionally as if drunk, and if you try to stop him he may not even process that you're calling out to him.
Hm.
Worrisome.
It probably comes to a worrisome head when he's crossing one of the bridges in Bluo, feet dragging--and then sways, and topples right off the side, blacking out for a brief moment. Bye, Minato.]
June 8
[At this point he probably shouldn't be outside but he's here anyway, and he seems to be...talking to a tree? He's trying, but he clearly thinks it's someone he knows, and while his voice is low and slurred, he is trying to legitimately have a conversation with this tree.
It's probably a good thing he stopped to talk to the tree instead of wandering into the woods in this state? Maybe you should call out to him...
But he's definitely hallucinating, and only seems to notice if he's not interrupted when he stumbles, and knocks his head against said tree, startling back to himself abruptly with both hands clasped to his forehead.
And then he thumps his forehead against the tree again, this time purposefully and with plain aggravation.]

At the very least, it doesn't look like he's struggling to carry Minato. This is fine. ]
Are you sick?
no subject
Sorry, Bruce.
Comics.
Also, he's sleepy so he's just taking at at face value, rubbing at his eyes aggravatedly.]
... No, just tired... I'm pretty sure that's my punishment for the [yawn] quest.
[...]
I can't sleep...
no subject
Ah. An unnatural exhaustion rather than a natural one. How long have you been awake?
[ That's pretty rough. Bruce has two modes: awake for days or sleeps like the dead and punches people for even trying to wake him up. So, he would absolutely hate to go through what Minato is going through. Which is probably the point. ]
no subject
How long..?]
How many days...
[... Blearily...]
Four...?
[Too many days for proper motor functions and brain functions.
It explains a lot.]
no subject
The longest a human being can stay awake is about eleven days, though you'll most likely begin to have trouble with your memory and basic functioning. You'll also hallucinate. It's a little cruel that the town has done this to you, really. Teenagers need more sleep than most people too.
[ And they still walking! Still carrying Minato. Because well, it seems like the right thing to do. ]
I think even if you don't sleep, you should try staying in bed, letting your body rest the best you can. Close your eyes, stay in a dark, cool room. Even if your mind stays awake, at least you're not in danger of hurting yourself.
no subject
I hope it's not that long... I might really go crazy then.
[But he's rolling with it awfully well, all things considered.
But.
Also that's logical, even if Minato just frowns a little.]
I was trying to stay in bed, but... I felt like I was going crazy, lying down but not being able to sleep anyway. [There's a reason sleep deprivation is a type of torture, I guess...?]

There has to be something about the magic that's keeping you awake that'll keep you from dying from it. When it fades away, you'll most likely be fine, just sleepy.
[ And so is Bruce but unlike Minato, he does have experience with this. So, there's that? They're both really weird guys, huh. ]
But your body will stay rested, which is important right now. Taking walks is a good idea to stay awake but unsupervised, you might fall like you were when I saw you. It's important to make sure your physical body is taken care of when afflicted with something like this.
[ He's... still... carrying him!! ]
no subject
That makes sense... I'll try to keep all of that in mind. [He rubs at his eye blearily, and finally processes:]
Um... Wayne-san, where are we going?
[Yeah.
This is why Minato's lucky nobody's ever tried to kidnap him (sans Lupin); he'd be in trouble.]
no subject
But then he asks that and Bruce just furrows his eyebrows, looking down at him before back up. He thought it was obvious! ]
Nowhere in particular. I was waiting until you recovered some energy or decided to go home. Staying moving will help you stay awake. That's all.
[ Like rocking a baby to sleep!! ]
Do you want me to set you down?
no subject
[Minato is pretty chill with all of this, really; if Bruce doesn't mind, then hell, Minato doesn't mind either.]
Thank you, though. For looking out for me so much when you didn't have to at all...
[It's really nice of him to do.]
