WHO: Minato and youuuu
WHERE: The town, the woods, everywhere in between
WHEN: June 3 - June 10
WHAT: Lack of sleep does some unfortunate things to people, it really does. ie punishments really, really suck
WARNINGS: A lot of this is just very, very dumb
June 3/4
[At first, he's just miserable. A night or two without sleep is doable, but really, really awful, and so Minato can be found mostly wandering, restless, especially late at night. Which is very, very unusual for him (usually he'd be asleep by now), but don't mind him as he stalks about the town with his hands shoved deeply into his pockets, occasionally stopping to yawn massively and lean against a wall.
He always ends up standing back up pretty promptly, though, no matter how sleepy he looks.
Weird.
Or he might come visit at some obscene hour of the morning if he thinks your character will be awake, almost desperate to talk to someone to get his mind off of this. He will definitely knock on doors at all hours of the night if he thinks your character would sincerely be awake at that time of night.
Please help him.]
June 5/6
[It gets much, much worse. Minato's wanderings are almost desperate now; lying down does nothing, leaning against things does nothing, he cannot sleep no matter what he does and it's starting to take its toll. He's definitely stumbling, staggering occasionally as if drunk, and if you try to stop him he may not even process that you're calling out to him.
Hm.
Worrisome.
It probably comes to a worrisome head when he's crossing one of the bridges in Bluo, feet dragging--and then sways, and topples right off the side, blacking out for a brief moment. Bye, Minato.]
June 8
[At this point he probably shouldn't be outside but he's here anyway, and he seems to be...talking to a tree? He's trying, but he clearly thinks it's someone he knows, and while his voice is low and slurred, he is trying to legitimately have a conversation with this tree.
It's probably a good thing he stopped to talk to the tree instead of wandering into the woods in this state? Maybe you should call out to him...
But he's definitely hallucinating, and only seems to notice if he's not interrupted when he stumbles, and knocks his head against said tree, startling back to himself abruptly with both hands clasped to his forehead.
And then he thumps his forehead against the tree again, this time purposefully and with plain aggravation.]

Ah.
Well. Uh.]
Oh--that wasn't...
[Hm.]
I guess I was just...frustrated. [He was hallucinating and now he knows it and he hates that a lot.] I won't do it again.
no subject
She can't actually tell if what he says is the truth, nor can she see what's wrong... Shiho bites her lip, frowning.]
...Frustrated... about what? [No, really, because she doesn't know.]
no subject
I think I'm seeing things. I thought I saw--
[... A frown.]
--a friend of mine. But she's not here anymore, so it's impossible...
[And he is so, so tired.]
no subject
You look... tired. [She could have said he looked terrible but now is just not the time for petty jokes. But she recognizes the look from last time Minamoto ran days of little sleep, making changes to all their equipment for some reason.]
...Have you been sleeping? [Is this like her loss of psychometry?]
no subject
Not at all. I think it's my punishment for failing.
[He'll confirm that for her easily; it's gotten pretty obvious to him by now.]
It could be worse, but...
[... tiredly:]
... I'm really sleepy.
no subject
Because you haven't been sleeping. [That usually leads to sleepiness.]
It...started four days ago, right? Have you tried asking... [ugh she can't believe she's doing this but] Guren?
no subject
Ichinose-san...?
[He blinks blankly at that.]
How come?
[Minato, come on, use your brain.]
no subject
drug dealerpharmacist (??) apparently...]He might have something you could use. Like chloroform or sleeping pills or something. [How suspect does she thinks he is?
Really suspect after he lectured her for not cleaning up after herself.]
no subject
... You're right. I forgot about Ichinose-san and the drugs.
[THE DRUGS... THEIR RESIDENT DRUG DEALER...]
I guess it's worth a try. [He's sleepy, so he'll try anything.] Someone else tried a sleep spell and it didn't work at all.
no subject
It didn't work at all? [And now she has to resist the urge to touch him and see if it really hadn't worked. She doesn't even have her powers but old habits are difficult to break.]
no subject
No... not at all. I fell asleep--but then I woke up immediately.
[Feeling even worse than before, really.
It's horrible.
Still, he musters up a rueful expression.]
I guess it could come in handy like this...maybe? [Except he's practically hallucinating and he needs sleep.]
no subject
We can try. But it should be something with a more measured dose, I guess. [Because she’s lost the ability to measure doses properly without her psychometry there to help her and it’s terrifying to think about accidentally giving him too much.]
no subject
[Yeah let's not overdose; that would be one way to finally get to sleep, but he wouldn't be waking up from that one. Either way, it finally registers that he's been way too out of it to ask what really matters:]
... Are you okay? [After all--Shiho ended up with a punishment too, right?]
no subject
.......not... really.
[But she doesn't elaborate just yet to give herself the time to work out what she's going to say.]
no subject
Your punishment is bad too then, huh?
[This place really does know how to hit where it hurts, he thinks.]
no subject
Mine is more..... inconvenient than anything, I guess? I mean-... [She’s always wondered what it would be like to have no powers. But she’s no longer sure if she likes it anymore.]
no subject
He just tilts his head, a softly questioning noise escaping him.]
You don't sound very sure about that...
no subject
[Here she pauses a little, torn between telling the truth and telling him something that’s close enough.]
...lost something.
no subject
... You don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable with it, Sannomiya-san. I believe you.
[Whatever she lost... he's sure it's something important to her in some way.]
And I hope... you get it back soon.
no subject
She’ll...make it up to him, she promises herself this.]
It’s not because of you. [Because she thinks that part is important to get out there, to reassure him that he wasn’t the one at fault.] But.......thanks. I...hope so too.
A-And! Rather than worrying about me, you should be more worried about yourself.
no subject
Minato just snorts softly at that, shaking his head a little.]
I can only worry about myself so much before I start to go crazy... [After all:] It's not going to make me fall asleep faster, so...
[What can he really do?]
I'd rather think about other things. [And people.]
no subject
It's your choice after all. But worrying about other people doesn't help you fall asleep faster either.
no subject
I don't think anything will help me fall asleep at this point... starting to think I just have to hope it doesn't last so long that I start hallucinating.
[... More.]
no subject
Something must work, right? If it isn’t drugs then maybe you just need to... relax? [Not that Minato isn’t always relaxed even when he really shouldn’t be.]
Like... with a lullaby or something? Or we can count sheep and bore you to sleep.
no subject
I guess I haven't tried any lullabies or something... maybe it just takes the right trigger to help me fall asleep.
[He doesn't believe it, but it's nice to think about, isn't it?]
