Nestled in a clearing surrounded by the colorless half-dead trees, the various shades of gray leaves scattered across the ground making a nice crunch when stepped on, is the campsite made for the trip. It's not a fancy affair as one would expect from the limited resources, but has a sense of homeliness to its step-up. At the start of the day tents are erected, the largest ones to store the supplies for the next couple days, and a fire bed is made toward the center of the space for the campfire that will start up as the sun sets closer to night.
The sound of wildlife is everywhere, from chirping birds to cricketing bugs, and distant pattering steps of animals who are smart enough to not crash through what is sure to be a populated area in their territory. If you ignore the eerie sounds of the incomprehensible whispers coming from every direction, it’s almost enough to be normal. It'll be a chilly day so everyone should be wearing appropriate clothes for the weather, but the good news is that there'll be a lot of sunshine from the thankfully restored sun!
Sad that the forest itself is not so festive, but at least the fire at night will be a warm mix of purple and red, with the firewood turning dull merlot underneath the contact. Sunset turns the sky into shades of purple, and when six o’clock hits the sky will turn a sharp dark blue with the stars lighting up the night for the rest of their evening.

i. Daytime Events (14th or 15th)
- [Thankfully, their trek into the forest doesn’t take too long at all. Just as had been mentioned, the campsite is just far enough to make the town out of sight, and feel a little out of reach, but not so deep that there’s any immediate danger. Things start early on the 14th, and after their night over in the woods, they’ll stay well into the 15th before returning, as well. There are a large number of things to do at any time, so it’s time to get started!
a. Hunting
Everyone is going to have to eat throughout their stay in the woods! That means there’s some work cut out for those who are capable of hunting, and maybe even those who are a little less than capable. There are the normal mutated animals throughout the woods— extra limbs, wings when there shouldn’t be, too many teeth, and so on. Remember, sometimes that means that a friendly woodland squirrel can shoot out fire, so be careful! That’s not the only thing you’ll have to watch out for, either. There are certain parts of the woods that will cause character powers and abilities to go wonky. They may suddenly be unable to use them, lack control of them, or become significantly stronger. These issues only occur in certain pockets of the forest, so you may step into it one minute and out of it the next!
b. Gathering wood
The next thing that everyone’s going to be needing before nightfall is firewood. That means knocking down and cutting up trees however you can! You’ll still have to watch out for those pocket areas of the forest that may mess with your powers and abilities, and on top of that, it seems not all gray trees are created equal. Certain trees, if chopped down and lit on fire, will induce effects such as suddenly feeling more affectionate or suddenly feeling completely belligerent. Have fun.
c. Activities
With business out of the way, you can finally relax and have some real fun! There are areas set up for a variety of physical games such as tug of war, sports you can play with a ball (it’s probably not the right type of ball, but work with it here), and of course the obstacle course (that begins easy and slowly turns more difficult) that Zelda has lovingly constructed for everyone. Of course, there are also games like hide and seek that you can play, or get creative and come up with something yourself!
d. Morning after/Wrapping up
Whether you slept in a tent or beneath the starry sky, morning comes eventually, and the second day of the trip begins. Was it a comfortable rest? Maybe the affection-causing fumes of the fire have you a little too close to someone nearby. However it is that you wake up, as soon as the sun begins to rise, things begin to take motion again, and Guren won’t let anyone sleep in for too long. Get up and help out, go have your ordered fun.
Of course, once the day nears its end, it’ll be time to pack everything up and head back to the town. Hopefully you’re not too exhausted. There’s plenty to help with, and any slackers can expect to be nagged into helping— unless you manage to slip away. ]

ii. Nighttime Events (14th)
- [Night falls, and the usual whispers from between the trees that can never be understood seem more apparent. Everything is more quiet, a little spookier, but it’s time to settle in and get some sleep. Or maybe you’re not ready to sleep just yet! There’s still so much that can be done, after all.
a. Ghost stories
A camping classic for everyone. Sit around the fire and tell ghost stories, or funny stories, or any stories to a listening group. Try to scare someone out of their wits if you dare. But be warned, as the woods want to play along too. You won’t even realize it until the bone chilling tale is over and no one in the group had ever uttered a word.
b. Night watch
Members of the Defense Force (and anyone tagging along interested in joining or willing to help) will be assigned a specific time or rotation to stay watch. It may be a fun camping trip, but the dangers of the forest are real, and no one wants to end up hurt. Keep an eye on the will o the wisps nearing the outskirts of the camp, just in case anyone is too curious for their own good, but otherwise, at least everything looks relatively safe. The hardest part may just be staying awake.
c. Cookout
With food hunted from the wilderness, it’s time to get to cooking it! Do you even know how to cook a rabbit with four ears? Hope so. Or maybe you just decided to stick with berries from the plants. One way or the other you need to eat and you need to cook your meal. Might be a good idea to grab someone for help if you’re completely clueless.
d. Campfire
As the fire roars starting at early evening and throughout the night, take the time to relax next to the warmth. Even as the forest whispers at night and pixies might try to steal your belongings if they think you aren’t paying attention, after a long day there’s no shame in some downtime. Why, you could even sing some SONGS to get on everyone’s nerves because what brings a group together like 100 bottles of beer on the wall when everyone wishes they could get drunk? Luckily there are plants that only require brief contact on accident to help loosen you up for it.

iii. Events for Day or Night (14th or 15th)
- [Of course, there are some activities that aren’t limited by daylight or nighttime. Relax around the fire, warm yourself from the cold, and have fun!
a. Card/board games
Sad to report that there is no monopoly in Chroma. That said there are plenty of classics here for people to take part in. Care for a game of chess or checkers? If you want to stretch your wits and poker faces, there are few card decks that old and worn but still usable. Make it interesting by throwing out a bet! They’ll be available for those who especially don’t like roughing it out.
b. Chatter
If you want to pass the time, why not take part in some conversation games with your teammates? All in good fun, no? Truth or Dare, Two Truths and a Lie, Never have I ever, Would You Rather -- anything goes so long as you’re willing to play the game.]

iv. Extras (14th or 15th)
- [Aside from all of that, there are a number of general events that can occur at various times throughout the stay in the forest. Many of these can be included or combined with any of the above prompts, so keep that in mind!
a. Pixies
There are thieves in the forest. Pixies will be stealing weapons and belongings the second your back is turned, so watch out! They can be found in the woods and recovered, but you’ll have to track them down to retrieve them, so you might want to ask for some help.
b. Plantlife
Certain plants in and around the campsite, if touched, will induce effects such as: looser inhibitions, a drunken sort of feeling, and a general discarding of sensibility. There’s also the firewood mentioned up above. Certain trees, when chopped down and lit on fire, may induce effects such as suddenly feeling more affectionate or suddenly feeling more belligerent.
c. Will o the wisps
Once nighttime hits, the campsite will be surrounded by glowing lights. Thankfully, they’re benevolent right now, since everyone is so close to the town, and won’t exert any influence on characters. If your character would try to follow them despite that, however, it would lead to something that heavily contradicts the tone of this camping trip, and you’ll have to contact the mods to see what happens. Be warned that there are heavy risks! Maybe just admire them like fireflies from afar, instead? Or save a friend from straying too far.]
OOC. Notes
Like it says above, this event is open to everyone! Defense force members are “forced” (icly, not oocly, obviously) to come, but anyone else is invited, and even if they’d rather crash instead of RSVPing, that’s fine, too. If you need it, the OOC information and plotting post is over here for your reference! If you have any further questions, or if you need to add a warning to the log, PM me or message me atzeloser! That being said, if anything somehow ends up getting NSFW in any of those cute little tents, please take that to your own character journals so I don’t have to lock the entire log. Otherwise, have fun!!

I was looking at the stars.
[His voice sounds mostly impassive, as normal, but there's definitely something up here. He reaches out and grabs Akechi's hand, pointing up with his other fingers.]
Aren't they beauuuutiful?
[He leans in a little closer.]
Like your eyes.
no subject
The slurring is also a bit suspicious, but Akechi won't say anything on the matter just yet, choosing to only squint instead. ]
I appreciate the praise, but if you wanted to watch the stars, we could have done so together. [ It's a bit of a reprimand, but gentle, and done with a stubborn smile that insists on making itself known; worried though he was, he can't really be mad at Akira when he's trying to be romantic. ] We haven't had the chance to spend much time together on this trip yet, have we?
no subject
So he turns back the way he came, tugging at Akechi’s hand.]
Then come on. Let’s go.
[If Akechi follows, he’ll start walking just a little past the fire - otherwise, he might notice Akira stumble a bit when met with resistance.]
no subject
Huh. ]
Oh, actually-- [ He tugs at Akira's hand, both as a means to get his attention and to demonstrate his intention to stay right where they are. ] How about we do that some other time? I don't know about you, but I've had quite the busy day...
[ And while this isn't a lie, it's more like an excuse; if his suspicions are true and Akira really is less than sober, then it wouldn't be a good idea to go venturing any farther into the woods. ]
no subject
His confusion lasts a moment longer, before suddenly he starts to grin, taking a step back towards Akechi.]
Oh, okay. You want to go back to the tent.
[His free hand starts to sneak toward Akechi's hip.]
no subject
Yes. [ And because Akechi has definitely learned to keep an eye on Akira's hands at all times, his own fingers reach out to take Akira's, replacing some possibly scandalous display of affection for something a lot more appropriate. ] It is rather late, and we're all going to be up at sunrise to prepare for our return. It would be wise to get some rest.
[ And, more important, it would be a very good idea to keep Akira away from further trouble now that he doesn't seem to be acting like himself. ]
no subject
His grin falls into something more passive, but he nods.]
I guess you're right. Lead the way.
[He should probably not drop those hands, though, or Akira might take the chance to try again.]
no subject
[ And he's definitely keeping their hands linked, both as a means to nip Akira's daring attempts in the bud and just to make sure he won't stumble on his short trip back to the tent and possibly fall on his face. That wouldn't be very nice.
He never said anything about going back just for sleeping, though. ]
Besides, we can still enjoy our time together without stars as our witnesses, right?
[ Without stars or anyone else, for that matter. ]
no subject
Yeah. Right.
[And so he will obediently follow Akechi to the tent! Luckily there are no stumbles, at least until he tries to crawl in.
It's really more like a cross between rolling and crawling, but he makes it. The leader of the Phantom Thieves, everybody!]
no subject
But, once they're safely back inside the tent, he gives Akira a look over, wondering if he's injured or maybe has a bump in his head from a hard knock-- who knows what kind of shenanigans he has been up to and, more importantly, how they have affected him. He's clearly not acting like usual. ]
So, tell me. What all did you get to do today?
[ It's a good way of starting conversation and trying to figure out what it is that may have caused Akira's change in demeanor without asking for it straight. ]
no subject
Chopped down some wood, played some games, did the obstacle course, cooked food...
[Pretty standard camping stuff! Nothing odd here.]
What about you?
no subject
Well, I had quite a bit of trouble trying to convince one of my squad members to stay, for one. He was quite insistent on leaving, and I was under the impression he didn't intend on coming back.
[ And while he's distracting him with idle chatter, he runs a hand through Akira's hair, casual like he's only being affectionate, but it doubles as an excuse to check him for any signs of a concussion, or maybe a fever. Seriously, there has to be an explanation for this! ]
But, thankfully, everything was worked out, in the end. I would have felt like a failure as a leader otherwise...
no subject
[Akira says it easily, even as he tries with more persistence to get Akechi into a cuddle position.]
Sometimes people don't want to listen to you. But you can convince them, if you're sincere about it.
[Maybe that isn't Akechi's style of leadership, but it is Akira's. Not that Akechi really needs to be told that.]
no subject
[ While he knows that's not the case-- and neither does he truly care about being a good leader, since he prefers acting alone-- the innuendo is a playful jab at Akira's unusual displays of neediness. Or maybe he has always been like that and is only now showing his true colors? They did agree to exploring each other a little further once they got alone time, after all... ]
Regardless, in this particular case, it wasn't so much that he didn't want to listen to me. [ And while he talks, he will at least scoot closer to Akira, though he's still mostly in a sitting position. If he wants to, Akira is free to lay his head on Akechi's lap. ] It was more like a secret he didn't want to share, understandably because we're little more than strangers to him.
no subject
[But if it does get Akechi into bed with him, he’s not complaining. He wiggles so that his head is in the offered lap.]
You don’t have to tell me what it is, if it’s a secret. But did you handle it?
[He’s going to reach up and trace the lines of Akechi’s jaw. He’s more interested in his face than the story, but he’ll listen to the story.]
no subject
Naturally. For having placed their trust in us in sharing such an important secret, we'll just have to... make accommodations for that teammate. It's nothing I can't handle.
[ Sure, he's definitely not at all about that teamwork bullshit, but he can very well be fake considerate-- plus he's an organizational master, so he's got this.
What he doesn't get, though, is why Akira is acting like this. And while he can't say he exactly minds it, he is rather curious, so: ]
Speaking of handling matters... Aren't you a little too handsy tonight?
[ He's not really reprimanding Akira, or even implying that he should stop. More than anything, he just looks... amused, if a little puzzled. ]
no subject
[Said as he wraps his hands around Akechi's neck to try and pull his head closer.]
I just went to the bathroom...
[He tries to think back. Everything feels kind of hazy, for some reason.]
There was some kind of weird plant. It smelled nice. I don't think I touched it...
[But clearly he did, at least inadvertently.]
no subject
A weird plant, huh..? Well, even if you didn't touch it, I wouldn't be surprised if it's responsible for this. Come to think of it, you're not the only one who has been acting unusual today...
[ In fact, Minato was also being a little too affectionate earlier, and it's definitely not his usual behavior, but... that might be a topic that should be avoided altogether. Would Akira even get jealous if he knew? ]
But, it's not as if I really mind it.
[ And to make his point, he's going to gently move Akira's head off his lap so he can slide under the blankets right next to him, lying down facing him. That's his own way of saying-- of showing that maybe he... actually rather likes it. ]
no subject
Almost instantly, he's wrapping his arms around Akechi, clinging to him like a burr. He snuggles his face into Akechi's chest, just under his collarbone.
It's much more than he might have done under normal circumstances, but his mind is filled with a happy buzz and he isn't thinking too hard about things right now.]
You're warm.
no subject
Funny, though, how he can't remember having ever felt so warm. ]
Hmm. So are you.
[ It's all he can think to say, at least at first. Eventually, though, he does take a hand to Akira's head, carding his fingers through his hair; it's a small display of affection that he has tried before, so he feels like it's a safe step to take. ]
Comfortable?
no subject
[In fact, there's a high likelihood he might fall asleep soon, if Akechi doesn't do anything to keep him awake. It seems he moves quickly from handsy drunk to sleepy drunk.
Still, he's not completely gone, so he moves his head up to look at Akechi.]
Is this okay...?
no subject
Akechi continues to stroke his hair, even when the question comes-- and it does catch him off guard a little. The last time they were experimenting, Akira didn't really care to ask; the fact that he chooses to do it now that he's not entirely sober is... odd, but somewhat endearing. ]
Yes. This is just fine.
[ Said with an easy smile, as warm as their bodies together. If he keeps this up, then Akira probably will go straight to sleep, but-- ]
Besides, I did make a promise, didn't I? For when we were alone.
[ Is the idea of exploring enough to keep Akira awake, though...? ]
no subject
But the idea of exploring is definitely enough to wake him up, and his eyes widen.]
You're... okay with that? Here?
[They're in a tent in the woods, after all.]
no subject
That was why you asked whether or not we could choose who to share a tent with, wasn't it? [ Meaning yes, he did see Akira asking on the forum-- which also means he saw Guren's teasing response, but he'd rather not give it too much thought right now. ] As long as we keep quiet, it should be fine.
[ Granted, Akechi's idea of exploring doesn't involve anything too scandalous, at least not tonight. He's hoping they're both on the same page there. ]
no subject
[Especially because, as Akechi pointed out, they spent so much time doing other activities that they didn't get to spend much time together during the day. Now they're making up for it.]
But... [And here he grins, languidly.] I'm not complaining.
[He won't try to go too far, but he's definitely interested.]
