Nestled in a clearing surrounded by the colorless half-dead trees, the various shades of gray leaves scattered across the ground making a nice crunch when stepped on, is the campsite made for the trip. It's not a fancy affair as one would expect from the limited resources, but has a sense of homeliness to its step-up. At the start of the day tents are erected, the largest ones to store the supplies for the next couple days, and a fire bed is made toward the center of the space for the campfire that will start up as the sun sets closer to night.
The sound of wildlife is everywhere, from chirping birds to cricketing bugs, and distant pattering steps of animals who are smart enough to not crash through what is sure to be a populated area in their territory. If you ignore the eerie sounds of the incomprehensible whispers coming from every direction, it’s almost enough to be normal. It'll be a chilly day so everyone should be wearing appropriate clothes for the weather, but the good news is that there'll be a lot of sunshine from the thankfully restored sun!
Sad that the forest itself is not so festive, but at least the fire at night will be a warm mix of purple and red, with the firewood turning dull merlot underneath the contact. Sunset turns the sky into shades of purple, and when six o’clock hits the sky will turn a sharp dark blue with the stars lighting up the night for the rest of their evening.

i. Daytime Events (14th or 15th)
- [Thankfully, their trek into the forest doesn’t take too long at all. Just as had been mentioned, the campsite is just far enough to make the town out of sight, and feel a little out of reach, but not so deep that there’s any immediate danger. Things start early on the 14th, and after their night over in the woods, they’ll stay well into the 15th before returning, as well. There are a large number of things to do at any time, so it’s time to get started!
a. Hunting
Everyone is going to have to eat throughout their stay in the woods! That means there’s some work cut out for those who are capable of hunting, and maybe even those who are a little less than capable. There are the normal mutated animals throughout the woods— extra limbs, wings when there shouldn’t be, too many teeth, and so on. Remember, sometimes that means that a friendly woodland squirrel can shoot out fire, so be careful! That’s not the only thing you’ll have to watch out for, either. There are certain parts of the woods that will cause character powers and abilities to go wonky. They may suddenly be unable to use them, lack control of them, or become significantly stronger. These issues only occur in certain pockets of the forest, so you may step into it one minute and out of it the next!
b. Gathering wood
The next thing that everyone’s going to be needing before nightfall is firewood. That means knocking down and cutting up trees however you can! You’ll still have to watch out for those pocket areas of the forest that may mess with your powers and abilities, and on top of that, it seems not all gray trees are created equal. Certain trees, if chopped down and lit on fire, will induce effects such as suddenly feeling more affectionate or suddenly feeling completely belligerent. Have fun.
c. Activities
With business out of the way, you can finally relax and have some real fun! There are areas set up for a variety of physical games such as tug of war, sports you can play with a ball (it’s probably not the right type of ball, but work with it here), and of course the obstacle course (that begins easy and slowly turns more difficult) that Zelda has lovingly constructed for everyone. Of course, there are also games like hide and seek that you can play, or get creative and come up with something yourself!
d. Morning after/Wrapping up
Whether you slept in a tent or beneath the starry sky, morning comes eventually, and the second day of the trip begins. Was it a comfortable rest? Maybe the affection-causing fumes of the fire have you a little too close to someone nearby. However it is that you wake up, as soon as the sun begins to rise, things begin to take motion again, and Guren won’t let anyone sleep in for too long. Get up and help out, go have your ordered fun.
Of course, once the day nears its end, it’ll be time to pack everything up and head back to the town. Hopefully you’re not too exhausted. There’s plenty to help with, and any slackers can expect to be nagged into helping— unless you manage to slip away. ]

ii. Nighttime Events (14th)
- [Night falls, and the usual whispers from between the trees that can never be understood seem more apparent. Everything is more quiet, a little spookier, but it’s time to settle in and get some sleep. Or maybe you’re not ready to sleep just yet! There’s still so much that can be done, after all.
a. Ghost stories
A camping classic for everyone. Sit around the fire and tell ghost stories, or funny stories, or any stories to a listening group. Try to scare someone out of their wits if you dare. But be warned, as the woods want to play along too. You won’t even realize it until the bone chilling tale is over and no one in the group had ever uttered a word.
b. Night watch
Members of the Defense Force (and anyone tagging along interested in joining or willing to help) will be assigned a specific time or rotation to stay watch. It may be a fun camping trip, but the dangers of the forest are real, and no one wants to end up hurt. Keep an eye on the will o the wisps nearing the outskirts of the camp, just in case anyone is too curious for their own good, but otherwise, at least everything looks relatively safe. The hardest part may just be staying awake.
c. Cookout
With food hunted from the wilderness, it’s time to get to cooking it! Do you even know how to cook a rabbit with four ears? Hope so. Or maybe you just decided to stick with berries from the plants. One way or the other you need to eat and you need to cook your meal. Might be a good idea to grab someone for help if you’re completely clueless.
d. Campfire
As the fire roars starting at early evening and throughout the night, take the time to relax next to the warmth. Even as the forest whispers at night and pixies might try to steal your belongings if they think you aren’t paying attention, after a long day there’s no shame in some downtime. Why, you could even sing some SONGS to get on everyone’s nerves because what brings a group together like 100 bottles of beer on the wall when everyone wishes they could get drunk? Luckily there are plants that only require brief contact on accident to help loosen you up for it.

iii. Events for Day or Night (14th or 15th)
- [Of course, there are some activities that aren’t limited by daylight or nighttime. Relax around the fire, warm yourself from the cold, and have fun!
a. Card/board games
Sad to report that there is no monopoly in Chroma. That said there are plenty of classics here for people to take part in. Care for a game of chess or checkers? If you want to stretch your wits and poker faces, there are few card decks that old and worn but still usable. Make it interesting by throwing out a bet! They’ll be available for those who especially don’t like roughing it out.
b. Chatter
If you want to pass the time, why not take part in some conversation games with your teammates? All in good fun, no? Truth or Dare, Two Truths and a Lie, Never have I ever, Would You Rather -- anything goes so long as you’re willing to play the game.]

iv. Extras (14th or 15th)
- [Aside from all of that, there are a number of general events that can occur at various times throughout the stay in the forest. Many of these can be included or combined with any of the above prompts, so keep that in mind!
a. Pixies
There are thieves in the forest. Pixies will be stealing weapons and belongings the second your back is turned, so watch out! They can be found in the woods and recovered, but you’ll have to track them down to retrieve them, so you might want to ask for some help.
b. Plantlife
Certain plants in and around the campsite, if touched, will induce effects such as: looser inhibitions, a drunken sort of feeling, and a general discarding of sensibility. There’s also the firewood mentioned up above. Certain trees, when chopped down and lit on fire, may induce effects such as suddenly feeling more affectionate or suddenly feeling more belligerent.
c. Will o the wisps
Once nighttime hits, the campsite will be surrounded by glowing lights. Thankfully, they’re benevolent right now, since everyone is so close to the town, and won’t exert any influence on characters. If your character would try to follow them despite that, however, it would lead to something that heavily contradicts the tone of this camping trip, and you’ll have to contact the mods to see what happens. Be warned that there are heavy risks! Maybe just admire them like fireflies from afar, instead? Or save a friend from straying too far.]
OOC. Notes
Like it says above, this event is open to everyone! Defense force members are “forced” (icly, not oocly, obviously) to come, but anyone else is invited, and even if they’d rather crash instead of RSVPing, that’s fine, too. If you need it, the OOC information and plotting post is over here for your reference! If you have any further questions, or if you need to add a warning to the log, PM me or message me atzeloser! That being said, if anything somehow ends up getting NSFW in any of those cute little tents, please take that to your own character journals so I don’t have to lock the entire log. Otherwise, have fun!!

[In fact, there's a high likelihood he might fall asleep soon, if Akechi doesn't do anything to keep him awake. It seems he moves quickly from handsy drunk to sleepy drunk.
Still, he's not completely gone, so he moves his head up to look at Akechi.]
Is this okay...?
no subject
Akechi continues to stroke his hair, even when the question comes-- and it does catch him off guard a little. The last time they were experimenting, Akira didn't really care to ask; the fact that he chooses to do it now that he's not entirely sober is... odd, but somewhat endearing. ]
Yes. This is just fine.
[ Said with an easy smile, as warm as their bodies together. If he keeps this up, then Akira probably will go straight to sleep, but-- ]
Besides, I did make a promise, didn't I? For when we were alone.
[ Is the idea of exploring enough to keep Akira awake, though...? ]
no subject
But the idea of exploring is definitely enough to wake him up, and his eyes widen.]
You're... okay with that? Here?
[They're in a tent in the woods, after all.]
no subject
That was why you asked whether or not we could choose who to share a tent with, wasn't it? [ Meaning yes, he did see Akira asking on the forum-- which also means he saw Guren's teasing response, but he'd rather not give it too much thought right now. ] As long as we keep quiet, it should be fine.
[ Granted, Akechi's idea of exploring doesn't involve anything too scandalous, at least not tonight. He's hoping they're both on the same page there. ]
no subject
[Especially because, as Akechi pointed out, they spent so much time doing other activities that they didn't get to spend much time together during the day. Now they're making up for it.]
But... [And here he grins, languidly.] I'm not complaining.
[He won't try to go too far, but he's definitely interested.]
no subject
[ He doesn't see-- or rather, he's not entirely convinced that's all Akira had been planning, but either way, it doesn't really matter. What matters is the end result: the two of them, together, enjoying some minimum privacy. Something they both want to take advantage of.
And in that vein, he pulls himself a little closer, hand reaching underneath Akira's ridiculous(ly cute) sweater and brushing his sides with gentle, circular movements of his thumb. ]
So. What did you have in mind?
no subject
He wasn't expecting Akechi to start touching him like that, but he feels immediate warmth and pleasure from the touch. It's just a little, but plenty to convince him that this is a great idea.]
We don't have to do anything big.
[He knows Akechi doesn't want to move that fast. But...]
Can I just... touch you?
no subject
And so, he giggles at Akira's question, fond, with just a hint of tease. ]
Do you really need to ask twice?
no subject
Akira frowns a little, but just a little, as he decides to take that opening and slide his hands under Akechi's shirt. At first he just looks defiant, but it quickly melts away into something like awe as his fingers start to explore around Akechi's chest.
This would be a little more fun if they could see, though...]
Maybe we should take our shirts off...
no subject
And that's exactly what makes Akira's following suggestion so dangerous. ]
It's a little cold, though, isn't it? Are you sure you want to part with your cute sweater so soon...?
[ It's said with a bit of a laugh, a joke to keep the mood lighthearted and conceal his hesitation. The woods and the neighboring tents, but more importantly, the idea of getting more intimate with Akira... it's as exciting as it is overwhelming. ]
no subject
[He doesn't sound all that disappointed, and he doesn't stop as he idly traces the outlines of Akechi's muscles. He's slender, but maybe a little more defined under there than Akira is.]
I guess I can always look with my fingers...
[Said as he swishes the pad of his fingertip along Akechi's pec.]
no subject
[ He points out, immediately before Akira's fingertips set off to explore uncharted territory again, and Akechi has to worry at his bottom lip to stop any embarrassing noises from coming out. It feels... good. Too good.
Maybe this was a terrible idea. And maybe he doesn't really want to back out.
Akechi lets his own hands stray to Akira's back, tracing contours and squeezing flesh by turns, no pattern to follow or thought put into motion. No, his musings are elsewhere, considering his options, his wants, his limits... And as it turns out, everything is a blur; he was never good at figuring out his feelings, but adding hormones to the equation is setting the bar to a whole new level of high.
Eventually, he pulls himself closer, enough that even his whisper can brush past Akira's skin. ]
How about you let me do it...?
[ It would give him the illusion of control, at least. ]
no subject
but then Akechi offers that, and thoughts of staying like this go out the window.]
Sure.
[It comes out in a whisper too, unintentionally. But being loud in this moment seems like it would break the tension, so he's quiet, his breath ghosting in kind over Akechi's skin.]
Whatever you want.
no subject
(As it turns out, the illusion of control does little to keep him at ease.)
Though his mind works at a hundred miles a minute, his hands are slow and careful, mapping Akira's back, his shoulders, his sides, continually giving the brushing and kneading treatment from earlier, imprinting his shapes into memory. Eventually, he reaches around to touch Akira's chest, traces his pecs and the beginnings of a six pack, and then--
It would be too easy, to let his fingers stray towards Akira's navel and then even further south, but not so easy to stop at just that. So instead, his hands are firmly parked in safer areas across Akira's torso, as he leans in to whisper: ]
Just trust me, okay?
[ And he connects their lips, using gentle pressure from his hands and even the weight of his own body to roll Akira onto his back. Akechi may not be entirely sure of what he's doing, but he does think this would make them more comfortable, and it would be easier to maneuver, too. ]
no subject
He doesn't do anything to stop it, though, instead letting his hands fall to his sides, suddenly and strangely pliant.]
I trust you.
[Is what he says when Akechi's lips finally leave his, though his voice is shaky. It's not from fear, though, but excitement mixed with the hesitation of someone in new, uncharted waters.]
no subject
Propping himself up on one elbow, he lets his free hand wander up to cup Akira's cheek for a moment, rubbing circles with gentle movements of his thumb; he hopes it's a reassuring motion, having read the obvious hesitation stamped across his boyfriend's features-- and honestly, even from his position, Akechi still feels vulnerable, a little too exposed despite being fully clothed. To be this open, this intimate with anyone would've been a tall order, but Akira is... different. Special.
(In some ways, that only makes it all the more difficult. Never in his life did Akechi think he would surrender to an enemy.)
With another kiss for good measure, his lips trail the path to Akira's jawline, then lower to his neck, where he's happy to dedicate extra time and attention to. It's wet kissing and suckling and even the occasional nibbling, all as a means to both please and distract, as his one free hand travels down again, pulling on the hem of Akira's sweater. If he doesn't say anything or try to stop him, Akechi will take it as a sign to proceed. ]
no subject
Then there's a hand at the hem of his sweater, and he lets out a soft gasp but doesn't move. He stays on the blankets, and lifts his arms a bit to make it easier.
Akechi can continue whenever he's ready.]
no subject
For now, he takes those movements as encouragement, though he does keep up with his assault on his Akira's neck for a little longer, maybe just enough to leave a faint mark in the morning. Once he's done with that, he pulls himself away and rolls up that ridiculous (but cute) sweater in one fluid motion, tugging it over his boyfriend's arms and head before hesitation could get the best of him-- though not before taking a good look at that shape plastered in the center. A heart.
And once Akira's chest lays bare to him, he can't help but think of the last time he saw that. The time he took a shot, right at that same place. Akira's heart.
He places a hand over the spot as best as he can remember, not very much unlike the time of their reunion following the tragic event; it's warm, and pulsing with excited vigor, undeniably alive. And as far as Akechi is concerned, this is just the way it's supposed to be, for as long as they're together.
Still, when he leans in, his lips brush a muted "I'm sorry" against Akira's skin, before closing in for a kiss over a phantom scar, physically invisible as though it had never happened at all, but an indelible mark, nonetheless. With his head buried in that chest, Akechi wishes he could just stay like this forever, and maybe shield it from any further damage.
But that's all he allows himself to mourn the living, just a single minute and he's back to business, trailing kisses across the expanse of Akira's chest as his free hand massages newly exposed skin at will. ]
no subject
When Akechi's hand lands on his chest, he can't help but reach up and touch the hand back, as though reassuring him that yes, what he's feeling is real. He moves it away again as Akechi leans in, unsure what he's thinking but with a few guesses, and waits quietly while Akechi has his moment.
And then it's over, and kisses are being trailed down his chest. Akira lets out a shaky sigh, squirming a little under the attention, but egging Akechi on.
It's already better than he imagined, in lonely nights in his bed, in the early days of Chroma and even long before, when he laid in his attic after Morgana was asleep and imagined a polished young detective on TV, one who actually came to the cafe every now and then, and sat down in front of him. One who saw something interesting in him when so much of the world had rejected him.
Now that attention is all on him and Akira drinks it in, reaching up to take that hand again, and guide it where he wants it.]
no subject
He keeps it up for a moment longer, hungry but gentle for the most part, save for the occasional nibbling or raking of nails-- Akira seemed to enjoy that hard tug at his lip that one time, and he's interested in knowing whether that was by chance or an actual pattern. Eventually, he makes the track back to Akira's collarbone, then his neck, peppering kisses in between a few words: ]
I can't pull over the covers like this.
[ Since he's still using one arm for support, and his free hand is currently occupied with fulfilling Akira's needs. And because he's fairly sure appealing to that would probably be more effecting than expecting good sense from raging hormones, he moves further up, closing in by Akira's ear as he whispers: ]
And I can't take my shirt off, either.
no subject
He tries his most seductive voice, low and breathy (though it could definitely some work).]
Do you want me to help?
[He understands if Akechi doesn't, but he feels like he should be doing something with his hands. Can't let Akechi do all the work.]
no subject
As per usual now, though, he stalls on his answer, perfectly content with leaving even more marks on Akira's neck in the meantime. If Akechi lets him do this, he'll be left feeling vulnerable and exposed on more than on level, but on the other hand, he may be curious as to what Akira might be able to pull off-- and, if he's being entirely honest with himself, he'd love to get some attention, too.
Eventually, he pulls away, with one more kiss on Akira's lips for good measure, and a smile on his. ]
If you would be so kind.
no subject
[He pushes himself up, looking more confident than he actually is. His hands are shaking minutely as he reaches out to slide away the vest, palms sliding down his arms as he does, then down to grasp the edges of his shirt.]
Then...
[He looks up into Akechi's eyes to be sure he has permission, then he tugs up, eyes drinking in his now exposed chest. But he was maybe a little too quick with the shirt, because Akechi's hair is a bit mussed, and it makes Akira chuckle.]
Ah, sorry.
[He lets the shirt fall, then reaches up with his now-free hand to comb his fingers through Akechi's hair - and at the same time, leans his face in, his lips coming to Akechi's exposed collarbone.]
no subject
He leans back for a moment, lets his free hand wander into Akira's own messy hair to idly massage his scalp as he takes his well deserved turn at exploring naked skin, to which Akechi responds with an encouraging sigh. It's not as though his neck is particularly uncharted territory, but somehow this is different, with their upper bodies so close to each other, warm and slick, not a single layer of fabric in between. It's enough to feel each other's pulses, and Akira's rapid heartbeats, his intoxicating smell...
And for a second, his mind wanders, wondering how much better this would feel, once the two of then could--
Ah, dangerous, treacherous thoughts.
Still, while those plans will have to wait a little longer, what he can do right now is to lie back down on his side, bringing Akira along with him without disturbing his ministrations. Like this, they can be more comfortable--and it gives Akechi an extra arm to do his own exploring with. ]
no subject
He gets close to his nipples, but he's a little embarrassed to go that far just yet. Maybe later.
So instead he just kisses his chest, sometimes scraping with his teeth lightly. His hand trails along Akechi's spine, up and down with light touches.]
