yeah baby it hurts a bunch

WHO: Lupin the First, Akechi the Second, loose zoo animal
WHERE: Casa de Lupinkechi, rooftop
WHEN: uhh... tonight!
WHAT: Lupin can't drink this whole bottle of wine by himself!! Not responsibly, anyway...
WARNINGS: akechi is not old enough to drink by american standards but that is stopping 0 people in this log

[ so back when they had that surprise feast, Ruva had gotten an entire bottle of wine - one that he didn't want. It would have been a terrible shame if it had just gone to waste. Enter the hero Lupin, who graciously took it off the young(?) man's hands and has been holding onto it for about a month.

He considered waiting for a proper occasion. He then considered that with all the chaos around, something would probably happen to break the bottle before the proper occasion came up. So instead, he's decided to crack it open now with a few friends. The occasion? They can admire the nice sunset, now that they've restored most of the colors of the sun and the sky. This means getting up onto the roof, of course, but hopefully everyone managed to brave the rickety staircase in their building in vain. Three chairs are lined up, as are three cups - all mismatched, but none of them leak, which is of greater importance - which he's busy pouring wine into at this moment.]

Doing this really reminds me of home.

Oh? Should I take that to mean you were used to watching the sunset with a detective back home?

[ Comes his teasing, clever and light-hearted in equal measure, just as Akechi takes his seat. It's comfortable banter, but in the interest of not spoiling the evening, he makes a mental note not to mention any actual names, as fun as it was to see Lupin try to deny it.

And while he does notice that bottle of wine, Akechi doesn't think much of the invitation, having known his roommate long enough to be able to tell he was given to flights of whimsy-- a certain birthday party comes to mind. He has no trouble indulging him, and if he's being entirely honest with himself, he might even like it. ]

I see we're expecting company. [ A nod towards the empty chair. ] Is this a special occasion?

[ Cue the Awash sitcom where Caramia bursts in saying "Did someone say company?" and there's an audience that laughs for whatever reason.

Except Caramia isn't nearly so coordinated, and honestly there isn't much to "burst in" from in the first place. Unless bursting involves crashing through the stairs, because that's about what Caramia expects from the rickety things. Didn't he break Lupin's stairs to the cellar before? Maybe he can just go back outside and scale the side of the wall to get to the roof...?

Yeah! It's a great plan. Probably. Fuck stairs, we scale the walls like men. Give him a moment, and he'll be clambering over the edge with slight trouble, but managing to flop down against the roof as intended. If you expected something more graceful, you'll have to take it up with the Big Cats Association, probably.

Just remember, Lupin, you were the one to decide to invite him over. But, hey, at least he'll give a wave like he didn't just over complicate his entrance! ]

[ Akechi barely has enough time to express surprise at the fact Caramia was coming over - since were he and Lupin that close, anyway? - because that's swiftly replaced with surprise over Caramia's preferred method of arrival. ]

A-ah, Caramia-san--!

[ And like the Pleasant and Helpful boy that he is, Akechi rushes over to assist Caramia back on his feet, extending a hand out to him. ]

You're quite the fan of grand entrances, aren't you? I wonder if this was the call of your true nature, haha...

[ Because cats love climbing up on roofs, right?? ]
