[Rin sighs and leans back against Kaoru, closing his eyes. This was nothing new and he always felt comfortable with her, but something about that moment was different. He felt warm and almost sleepy. The rest of the world fell away for a brief moment.

When he opened his eyes again, he wasn't sitting where he had been, moved just to the side.

A blink and he looked down only to loudly exlaim-]

[On the other hand, Kaoru's eyes remained open so she was treated to a moment of....something like vertigo when they touched. Then she blinked and the world came back into focus.

The first thing she noticed was that she wasn't sitting against the arm of the couch. Also her head felt lighter...

[...she sounds like Rin when she talks. This is so much weirder than when she swapped powers with Akira.

She stands up then, just because she wants to get a better look at the tail she--Rin--has.]

[Oh God, this is fucking bizarre. That's her voice, her body, but his mind controlling everything while she moves around in his body.

It's definitely a thought she's had before, but even more so now as she watches the tail twitch and it's so weird because she can feel it!]

Yeah. Didn't wanna freak out anyone who could see demons at the regular school.

[Teeth and ears were easy enough to brush off, but a tail was a bit much.]

Not the first time I've had to deal with strong powers.

You have to have gotten a demon wound at some point in your life to be able to see them. Obviously exorcists have to have it, but for everyone else its not that common. I think I know one guy in our academy for sure who can.

[He tried to help Godaiin, too, but he wound up turning down the offer and decided that as long as the exorcist students were around to help he'd be fine.]

Hmn. Not too much? My power is mostly held in my sword. If you get really, really worked up some might come out anyway, but I've got a pretty good handle on my flames now days. Oh, and I can heal super fast, but its not painless.

So anyone who's never had a run in with a demon wouldn't probably never be able to see one?

That's helpful. [If only her power could be mostly held in something besides her own body.] You probably don't want to get worked up with my powers too. It's very...instinctive? You can end up using it without meaning to.

Yeah. They might see things happenin' but they'd likely think it was a hauntin' or somethin' they can't actually see.

[Which is funny because ghosts are part of demon lore, but they're not the cause of everything pinned to the catch-all of "haunting".]

That makes sense. I'm not sure we have demons but Hatsune told me once she used to see ghosts in her childhood home.

[Rin lets out a cackle and drops his hands.

[She huffs! (She's smiling though.)]

You're lucky I like you too much to launch you out the window. [...except. Wait. She can't do that right now...can she?] ...could I do that? [NOT THAT SHE PLANS TO. But he's crazy strong, right?]

[Launching someone out the window would be child's play to him.]

Where was a convenient pervert like Tanizaki when you needed him?] I need to go try that. There's even a car somewhere in town!

Go for it. It's pretty cool.

[His super strength has perks, when he's not accidentally breaking things by not being gentle enough.]

I'll have to ask Shiho to help me locate the car. [And also to sneak up to it...maybe create a distraction first.] I promise I won't get you in trouble with anyone.
