[open] It's a (very belated) birthday log!
WHO: Kaoru, Shiho and friends
WHERE: Town hall
WHEN: Last week of February
WHAT: It's Shiho's birthday
WARNINGS: None probably.
I: Food!
[What is a party without food? Kaoru can't cook but she happens to know people who can! There's even a cake! She may have borrowed a table from another house for the purpose of keeping the food.
Though, oddly enough, there's also a small card (all of them different colour and sizes, some of them looked like they'd been gently folded then ripped along the fold) beside each dish with a number on it. There's also a list (all handwritten in pink), with the same numbers all listed on one side and lines beside it like something you should fill out.
On the top it says: Guess Who Made This Dish!
Are you here to play or are you just here to eat?]
II: Games!
[There is a hastily written sign on one side that says: NO DANCING.
But every party needs entertainment so beside there is a sign with game suggestions like: Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever...or maybe you'd like to take your list from the food table and see if you got more correct than the person beside you!]

[ Aren't birthdays important??
:C ]

It's really all right.
[ It's just another day. ]
I've been able to spend my days with those that are as close as family to me. The day of my birth ... it's all right... but I'd rather have days filled time spent with people I care about than have one special day.

[ It's said in an airy tone: come, now. Pyra reaches out to him, placing a hand upon his shoulder to give it a light, reassuring squeeze, as if to remind him: ] There's no reason you can't have both. [ And then she takes back her hand. ]
And I'm sure that those you care about would want to celebrate your birth. [ So there.
Listen she's sick and tired of knowing when and how someone died just by them touching her crystal. Just tell her your goddamn birthday already, because that's fun to think about instead. ] I know I would. [ She adds, as if her opinion means anything at all to him. ]
no subject
No, no, there really isn't any reason. [ Wrong thing to say! ] This has little to do with an old problem of mine, but rather ... there isn't anything that I want or need. [ Let's just lay that on the table. ]
I'm quite content with how things are, and so worrying someone with celebrating anything for me is a bit much. I'm much more someone who likes the plan the parties than to have the parties. [ With how gungho he is about a wedding, that much should be obvious, eh? ]

[ Why would anyone feel bothered by celebrating another's birthday? Or arranging it for a friend? Why would he feel like someone doing that for him would be a burden or unnecessary-- only because he has no needs? He should look at the party around him! It's not just about getting presents and such, it's about being in the company of friends and having a good time-- it really is like he doesn't know why birthday celebrations exist in the first place.
Also-- he's not really listening to her. He's not actually understanding what she's trying to say-- he's being such a boy! So fine, fine, guess she'll actually have to spell it out to him: ]

Don't try to pass this off as wanting for nothing... [ She's been in his heart, and oh boy does she know for certain that he needs a lot of hugs, at least.
She goes on in a playful tone: ] You can't fool me with that, even if you are an immortal cultivator.

There is a lot that goes into planning birthdays.
no subject
[ Hm!!
He stands a little straighter through her giggling and her smile. Ah?! Shen Qingqiu wants to protest and say that if his birthday is on a sunny day where he is able to sit in the sun, play his guqin and sip some team, that would be more than enough for him to want in all the world!
I realize it sounds kind of sad! But I'm actually very easy to please!! That's why big parties really aren't for me, okay?
But he realizes he's just falling back on that and she already said what she had meant. She just wants to celebrate his birthday with him. Which is... oh, right, 21st of the 9th month. But it'd be the lunar calendar... which is... another fucking thing that Airplane-bro fucked up! DO! YOUR! FUCKING! RESEARCH! I don't know this off the top of my head. Whatever, I'll say whatever.
He opens his mouth before shutting it. But that's rude to someone who's asking so honestly... wait, loophole! I can just say I saw a calendar in the library and just converted it now. Score! ]
It's the 21st of the 9th month.
no subject
...Ah, I thought you'd have me guessing for truths this entire time. [ She appreciates that he has given her an answer. ]
But the ninth month, mm? You're right, planning parties does take a while-- but it looks like we'll have ample time to prepare for it.
no subject
[ I really forgot, but because I scampered around in a circle... it looked like it did. I'm sorry. I'm sorry!
He pales as he realizes that she's going to be planning his birthday. ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT! ]
Pyra. Truth or Dare?
no subject
In any case: ] Truth. [ Hey, might as well make it even. ]
no subject
He offers his warmest smile. ]
When is your birthday?
no subject
[ :>
No, really, she doesn't. Also technically she was never born from anyone so, uh, yeah. ]
no subject
Are you having a go at me?
[ Tit for tat, as it were. ]
no subject
That's the truth.
Sorry, that's not really exciting-- would you like to use your turn for a different truth?
no subject
His head slightly tilts as he comes up with an idea, and nods at wanting to ask for a different truth. ]
Would you like a birthday?
no subject
[ That's not how it works, she's pretty sure! ]
no subject
[ A fond smile touches his lips. ]
Who is to say that the date you choose for yourself is not actually the right one, ah? If it calls to you, perhaps, that has been it all along. So... go ahead and choose.
no subject
Ah, well, but he asked, so... ]
Oh, but birthdays are important, aren't they? [ Hggggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrr..... ] Maybe.. Maybe...
[ Give her a moment, she has to think of a date.
The day of her awakening would be the most appropriate date for something like a birthday. And, gosh, when had that been? In the spring sometime, because she remembers there had been flowers, she remembers that the cherry blossoms in Uraya had been in full bloom back then, turning the interior of the Titan a pallet of twilight-pinks.... ]
Sometime in spring, would be nice. When there are flowers... [
so fucking shoujo] Maybe late April... or early May?no subject
He instead just keeps smiling as he sees that she's really thinking about it. ]
Let's have it be late April. While you like more time to plan these events, I like the idea of being able to celebrate your first birthday with you as soon as possible.
[ Maybe not the best thing to say at someone else's party, but it's fun, right? It's fun to talk on things for the future. Ah. It will be, eh? And certainly, there is a chance that Pyra may disappear from this place, so he feels a little itchy and anxious.
A memory like that... I don't want you to leave here without it. ]
no subject
Guess she'll just have to pick a date! ] Late April.... April 20th. [ Yeah, that's a good day, she thinks. A nice, solid, even number.
But, oh, goodness, that is coming up sooner than she'd think!
She reminds him gently with that in mind: ] But... we're still planning a wedding, you know. It'll be okay, if there is no time for my own birthday.

He opens up his mouth. 420. Blaze it. His mouth shuts. What is he supposed to say? Pyra! NO! She looks so sincere and happy about having chosen the date for herself that he's at a complete and utter loss.
My experiences are not universal. So. It's fine. ]
no subject
It will not be okay if there is no time. [ Fuck that! A person can't do so much for everyone and not be rewarded a little for it. He hates those kind of stories. He hates them and won't let that be Pyra's story. ]
There will be time for your birthday. This teacher will not allow it to go uncelebrated.

This teacher will not allow it to go uncelebrated.
Her eyes widen for a moment as she looks at him, bringing a hand up to her mouth, and... ]
