The roof, huh. We can go take a look. [If it exists. But she’s happy to go along for now and make fun of him later if there ends up being no roof.]
no subject
If they walk by anything different, like the art room or the first time they pass by a set of restrooms, Keigo points it out, but otherwise he focuses on making sure their world isn't going to end in a sudden drop off.
It doesn't. And when he pushes one final door open, there is a roof. Keigo almost tries for a dramatic presentation, but he remembers how that went. He just steps aside.]
Here we are.
no subject
He can't win though because Shiho gives him a raise of an eyebrow as he opens the door sans flourishes.]
Aww, no big reveal this time? [why is she like this]
no subject
It's a roof. That's the part that's supposed to wow you.
[Walking to the edge of the roof and slumping over the railing seems like the mood of the moment. That's when he notices the first problem with this world. When he looks out over the school grounds, he can see the gymnasium and athletic fields, but the farther he tries to see beyond school grounds, the more the image blurs.]
Everything's fuzzy. Do you see that, too?
no subject
[But she’s walking with him anyway, hands letting go of his arm to touch the railing.]
Huh. You’re right. ...Where do you usually look when you’re up here?
no subject
[It could have been impressive.
Oh good, she sees it too, so he's not going blind from stepping into the portal.]
Usually I was talking to my friends, so I wasn't really looking anywhere. [He would check the track for girls running.] But this school's on the edge Karakura. You should see buildings from the town over there.
no subject
My place is like this too. Everything is way closer together than it should be, and some stuff just isn’t there.
no subject
[What if he fell down the stairs because they weren't where he expected them to be?
He would hope he would see stairs coming up in front of him, but this whole experience was very distracting!]
I guess that's it. Karakura High is here but Karakura isn't, and the school is nothing but an empty building to walk around.
no subject
Well, there might still be food and items here we could take back with us.
no subject
You're right! We should check out the cafeteria!
[Glorious pre-packaged food! Maybe. Keigo heads back for the stairs.]
no subject
I hope they have bread or something. [She misses her carbs.... ]
no subject
[Keigo spends the entire walk thinking of various bread fillings. He's going to be so disappointed if there aren't any.
That's a set-up for especially crushing disappointment if there ever was one, but for once in his life, it doesn't happen. When he takes Shiho into the cafeteria, there aren't any hot foods being served by invisible cooks, but the full assortment of rice balls, breads, and other such things appears spread out before them. He grabs one and presents it with a bow.]
Your bread, Shiho-sama.
[That's the current flourish.]
no subject
Also she likes the honorific so, so much which is why she plays along with wide eyes and a hand pressed to her cheek.]
For me?
[Though truthfully? She could probably sit down and eat everything here.]
no subject
[He swings his arm slowly at the full selection, like a game show host showing off a prize.]
It's all for you.
[Except for the one he's going to snag for himself right now and immediately start eating.]
no subject
It’s been months since I’ve had bread. [And she’ll select one of her own now, picking something sweet and probably chocolate-filled.]
no subject
[Add in a rice ball every once in a while for variety.]
Or do you think it would disappear with us in it?
[He doesn't want to find out where made up worlds go when they disappear.]
no subject
And it might. Maybe we could eat some bread and take some back with us instead. Kaoru-chan and I were able to put clothes into a big box and take it with us. It could work with the bread?
no subject
[A well-balanced meal in that the starch balances out the additional starch.]
We can take things back with us? That makes it even better!
[Finally, a real purpose to this place! Keigo shoves the rest of his bun in his mouth to start looking for something to carry a pile back with them.]
no subject
Once he starts looking though, Shiho follows along, taking small bites of her own bun because she’s not going to shove that whole thing in her mouth. She’s a lady.]
Maybe a big box? Or a big tray? [Would a tray work? Well, there’s only one way to find out, right?]
no subject
He doesn't find anything behind the counters. If this was built from his memories, maybe he should have looked there more often.
But "big tray" makes him think of something and head back around to where they started.]
These slide out!
[When he pulls on one of the shelves displaying food, it glides along a track and right into his hands. They have a mode of transportation. They'll just need a little balance to carry back as much as possible.]
no subject
Or so she thinks then he takes one of the display shelves right out from the front.]
Huh. That might work. [They could try it, at least. And no matter what, at least Shiho had already had her chocolate bun.]
no subject
Load me up!
no subject
Roger that~
[Which is what she does, one hand holding the bun she’s still munching on while the other starts loading his tray with buns and other carb-heavy foods.]
no subject
When we get back, do we keep this all to ourselves or do we share?
no subject
As soon as she’s loaded up the tray enough, she takes the other end of it to help with his balance.]
Ready?
