WHO: Izuku & You!!
WHERE: Around the town!

A. Training

[After his brush with the creature in the forest going incredibly wrong, Izuku throws himself back into training, knowing that he has to get stronger and be able to hold his own in similar fights. Guren isn't going to conveniently be there to take a hit for him every time he's in danger, and he shouldn't have to be.

And so, anyone passing by the edge of the forest near Flavo might see Izuku training in the open space, wearing a dark grey tank top that doesn't cover the many obvious scars on his arms for once. They'll find him sitting on the ground, eyes closed, as green energy sparks over his skin. Instead of looking relaxed, though, he's clearly shaking from the effort of keeping his quirk activated at this level. There's even a pained sort of grimace on his face.]

B. Sharing the goods

[Being able to grab some things from the portals means that Izuku had access to a lot of things that he hasn't been able to in a while. Of course, that means...making sweets and sharing them!

Once the candy apples are done cooling, he'll be walking around the town with a tray of them and waving down the people he comes across.]

Would you like one? [With a bright smile, Izuku offers one of the apples, keeping a tight grip on the tray with his other hand.] I just made them! You should eat it while it's fresh.

C. Sew, a needle pulling thread

[When Izuku isn't running around town to feed people or training intensely, he finds a shady spot in the Flavo gardens that he settles down in to work on another project of his. This time, he's surrounded by a little pile of fabrics--mostly in various shades of grey.

Of course, it's not easy to sew when the fingers on your dominant hand are a bit crooked. The little plush (is it a bunny or a cat? It's hard to tell when it's kind of lopsided...) is coming along, but every so often, Izuku hisses and shakes out his left hand when he accidentally pricks himself with the needle.

It's been happening a lot. He might need some guidance with this.]

Normally, I'd agree, but... [Izuku sputters a little as another wave hits them, and he accidentally swallows some of the weird harbor water. Gross.]

I think finishing the quest is the least of our worries if we end up dumped in the water with no way to get back home. [Especially with the way the gray water works...]

[Thanks he hates it.]

How do we know we haven't completed the quest already...? It floats, right?

[Another wave crashes over them and Minato coughs and mostly looks miserable.]

[he sighs.]

All right, let's go back before someone here catches a cold.

[... except spoilers they won't be able to because chances are a sea monster appears—]

[With the water weighing it down, Izuku's hair just wilts sadly, making him look a lot more miserable than he actually is. Mostly, he's just worried--though, that's normal, too.]

Okay, let's see if we can get-- [And he never finishes his sentence, because that sure is a giant mutated squid tentacle wrapping around his waist and dragging him into the water.

Rest in pieces, Izuku Midoriya.]

[Holy shit.

Minato's immediately scrambling for his Evoker, moving towards the edge of the raft as if no longer remotely concerned about falling in.

He's totally going to dive in after Izuku in a minute, Gandharva--]

Midoriya-kun...!

[nope. if he can, he's grabbing minato's arm.]

Can you even fight underwater? If not, then stay back.

[SORRY IZUKU he'll get to you in a moment.]

[A frown!!]

We can't--

[... Ah. He calms down a moment later (well, as calm as he can be, all things considered, tense as he still is with his hands balled into fists), remembering what Ruva once said he was.]

... Can you save him?

It shouldn't be an issue.

[unless izuku's already dead but he's not saying that!

in any case, he may be far weaker than he ever was, but still—the water is his domain. so with that, he lets go before diving into the water himself. are you still alive, izuku!!]

[He's alive and fighting still, but his attacks grow weaker the longer he goes without oxygen. Though he's managed to land a few good kicks against the creature, fighting in the water just isn't something that he's used to, and he fails to get the mutant squid to loosen its grip on him.

The green energy sparking around him should at least give Ruva an idea of where he is, though.]

[though he knows it'll fail—the creatures here aren't of his clan, no matter the similarities—he tries to command the squid. no response, unsurprisingly. well, no matter. he can still deal with the situation, albeit preferably before izuku drowns. it'd look bad if he died under gandharva's watch, after all.

(perhaps he should've warned minato to be ready...)

gandharva figures the easiest solution here, rather than risk wasting time by attacking the monster directly, is to get izuku out of the water. the thing is, though, how he achieves that: the shift of underwater movement is all the warning izuku gets, before he and the mutant squid are swiftly ejected to the surface—or rather, far above it—through an eruption of water.

... hopefully minato can keep the raft steady. gandharva tried to keep it away from the raft, but they're probably still in the same vicinity, so enjoy more turbulent waves.]

[Minato is...doing his best? He's doing his best, and admittedly he's drenched from the waves, but somehow...somehow, their raft doesn't capsize.

But also.

He's definitely staring from where he was sprawled on the raft, as Izuku and squid alike suddenly are fling into the air.

UH...]

[This is the actual worst?? Suddenly, Izuku's bursting out of the water and higher and higher into the air... thankfully, he isn't afraid of heights, or he'd be in real trouble.

As it is, Izuku wheezes just a little as he forces himself to activate his quirk again and deliver a solid kick to the mutant squid. It goes flying into the distance and Izuku...falls back into the water with a splash, because he's too far from the raft and this is how his life goes.

At least he resurfaces a second later, spluttering and attempting to swim back in Minato's direction.]

[minato and izuku both need naps.

meanwhile, gandharva resurfaces not even remotely in need of air, before swimming towards izuku with the ease of someone whose natural habitat may or may not be the ocean. if izuku seems like he needs any help, gandharva will support him; otherwise, back to minato and the raft they both go.]

[And immediately, Minato is dismissing the giant squid flying...somewhere...in favor of reaching for Izuku's arms immediately, helping to haul him back onto the raft.

And then he'll offer a hand to Gandharva, even though he's plainly...fine...]

...Thank you, Ruva-san. For saving Midoriya-kun.

[At least the water is calm now that they've beaten their challenges!! Yayyyy.]

[Even if he's not the best swimmer, Izuku manages to get back to the raft with some effort, gratefully taking Minato's hand up.]

Th-thanks. [Though he's shivering, he's still smiling at both of them wearily.] Both of you, for your help. Th-that was kind of unexpected.

[That would be an understatement.]

[he'll take minato's hand, just because a human offering their hand to him is a rare occurrence.]

It seems that these waters are rather dangerous. Are you all right?

[And he'll help haul Gandharva up onto the raft--while Izuku answers that (and he is listening carefully), Minato grabs a paddle to start heading back.

Too!! Dangerous!!]

I-I'm fine. The attack surprised me, that's all.

[Anxiously, he looks between Minato and Ruva, even as he grabs the other paddle to join in the rowing. They have no idea what else could be lurking in the water, and Izuku would rather not find out how much their little raft can actually handle before it breaks.]

What about you two?

I'm fine.

[he pauses.]

You two don't actually have to paddle if you don't want to, by the way.

[A slow blink.]

I'm fine too...

[...]

Okay. If you're sure, Ruva-san, then I'll leave getting back to safety to you.

[Ruva gets another blink from Izuku, though this one's more confused than anything.]

We don't..? [There's a pause before he lights up, suddenly looking much more energized, as if he isn't soaked through and shivering from the water's effects.] Do you have some kind of water power, Ruva-san?

[It would explain what happened with the giant squid back there!]

I'll do my best, Minato.

[he doesn't respond to izuku's question, instead smiling (also, izuku, why did that energize you). as he does so, the raft continues to move, as if guided along an unnatural current. that's probably enough of an answer, really.

could he have done this from the beginning? yes. but, you know.]

[Better late than never...Minato just flashes Izuku a wry look.

Gandharva is just Like This...but thankfully now that they have conquered their water trial, it'll be smooth sailing from here on out.]

[Let him have this, Ruva... Izuku returns the look with Minato before turning his attention back to Ruva. Though he didn't get an answer last time, he doesn't look discouraged at all. In fact, he just looks even more fascinated by the quiet show of power.]

So what exactly can you do?

[Leaaaaning over to watch the boat cutting through the water easily, as if that might explain some things. It doesn't, really, but someone should probably grab him before he topples into the water... again.]

[...

he feels a bit like he just opened a can of worms he shouldn't have.]

Please don't fall into the water again, Izuku.
