[ Closed ] I put a spell on you
WHO: Artoria, Magilou, and Mordred’s bull’s eye Tristan
WHERE: Artoria’s place
WHEN: August 3rd
WHAT: A meeting between members of Magilou’s Menagerie! They need to deal with the problem child. Oh, and also certain spooky magical artifacts.
WARNINGS: Probably…nothing.
[ Most people who answer Magilou’s summons would likely do so with trepidation, never mind if said meeting was to take place in Saber’s territory. But Tristan, for all that he’d been in a dark mood since last month, is actually looking forward to it. Perhaps she means for her Menagerie to participate in Wuxian’s upcoming party! And that would at least be a good and honorable thing to do for the townsfolk.
So he arrives promptly at the appointed hour, knocking politely upon the door of that blue house. The moment someone comes to answer him, however, a rock comes flying out of nowhere to conk him in the back of the head. ]
…Ouch.

She reaches over to grab an obanyaki from Archer's strong arms. This is the privilege a king gets, she supposes. A dashing knight as a pack mule who says my liege like something from a fairy tale. And then, when she bites into it... ]
- Nope, no ash! Chocolate, all the way through!
[ It's said through mouthfuls of pastry, so it comes out more like a slur of words half-formed around chocolate and crisp pastry batter, because that's exactly what she's doing. Isn't it great that Saber has such a well-mannered Master?
Said well-mannered Master takes another bite without even stopping to breathe!!!! like she's purposefully trying to choke herself on the treats. She gets through it without dying, though, and when her food is spent, she stares at her fingers. Thankfully, she has the grateful sense to not lick them right away. ]
So, cursed book, but it creates pastries? Maybe that's what makes it so evil. [ She gestures to Saber like she's showing off a science experiment, her arms thrown to the side and circling the air. ] Look, the book's caught a king in its clutches with nary a way to rescue her! We'll be here until we find out if her stomach is truly bottomless, or if it is bound to the constraints of mortal men! Archer, what should our strategy be? Perhaps we should take the plunge and eat them all to free her from its clutches?

[ Congrats, Saber, he’s at a total loss for words as he’s relegated to pack mule and forced to watch his liege lord scarf down those suspicious pastries with a look of utter bliss. And then she takes another bite, and another…
He stares from one woman to another helplessly, without even trying to stop Magilou from snatching a pastry of her own. For a moment he’s at a loss, the world seemingly going mad right in front of him before Magilou finally calls him into action and snaps him out of it. ]
I would advise against it, Miss Magilou. A king’s appetites are as mighty as that of a dragon’s.
[ Therefore one should not, on pain of swift and painful death, attempt to part King Arthur from her food. ]

... Not that she'd admit it, even to herself. She's disciplined! As a knight, she would never act out of greed!! ]
M... Magilou! That is a tasteless joke! And Archer, I would never eat more than what I am due!
[ She's so disappointed in both of them!! She ought to reduce their obanyaki allowances for this. It is purely a coincidence that her own allowance would increase as a result.
With a huff, she tries to move the topic along. ]
In any case, I get the sense that I as an individual cannot do more with the book than this. If we are indeed limited to one sentence each, you two would do well to choose yours wisely.

[ Ba-dum tish.
... Anyway. It seems like Saber has at least gleaned some good information here, as specific as her wish - writing, whatever - might have been. They have something to go on now. The only question is, should they use this power immediately? She adopts a more contemplative expression and peers over at the book. Saber's words are still there, so perhaps... it's been written into the history of the town now, like the old tale of the rainbow chicken. ]
So now we know exactly what this thing can do. Including create objects out of thin air. There's... an impressive amount of power in this thing. It could so easily be abused.
[ She pauses. There aren't many people in this town that would use this for evil, most likely, but... there's always that chance with something like this. ]
We have the choice of telling everyone in town about this, if you want. I don't care either way. But if everyone has only one chance to write something... then we can't do it between the two of us.

I believe that everyone has the right to know, but…
[ Well, Mordred will be an issue, but perhaps Magilou’s ruse might be enough. Still, that isn’t such a great concern to him anymore, after everything he’s witnessed so far. ]
I will not be writing anything more. It seems that my role in this business is done.

Very well. Then leave the quill, enact any security measures you see fit, and notify the town. Magilou, it may be wiser to save your sentence until the town has had a chance to discuss the topic.
[ She resists sneaking another pastry and instead picks up Excalibur again, the shadows shifting across all of their faces as she raises it like a torch. She looks to Magilou just in case there's anything else. ]
Shall we conclude our trip here? We should not linger more than necessary.

Yeah, I'm raring to go. Let's get away from all this malevolence.
[ They've learned what this quill and book can do, and what kind of info is in there. Not to mention how powerful it is. If it can just create objects out of nowhere, it might be their ticket back home. ]
Security measures for a rowdy, nosy child, I assume? We're going to have to alert everyone else of how to break through it. Security's no good if no one else can get in.
[ Hey, at least Mordred's involvement makes it interesting. ]

Anyway, he’s pretty sure she should be saving her best lines for a more worthy audience than whatever spook might be causing all this evil energy. ]
A ruse might be the best defense against her meddling with something of this nature. I shall take your advice to heart, Miss Magilou, and I thank you both for your help in this matter.
[ He’d prostrate himself properly before Saber, but…armful of obanyaki. They really need to get out of here before the creepy air of this place stinks the pastries up. ]
