Merely worried.
[ He steps to the side. ]
Please, come in. Do you drink tea?
no subject
You look more than just worried; are you sick? [ And, of course, because she's Pyra, she will even reach out her hand to feel his forehead, if she may. ]
no subject
He shakes his head, hand returning to stroke the smooth wooden back of the 'rabbit.' ]
Not ill. Do not trouble yourself. Do not know what may come to someone who has departed from Chroma on a 'trip.'

[ She literally had a friend get killed by one such forest excursion a month ago, but she keeps that from her mind for now. Moving on, however: ]
Lan Wangji, I cannot accept, in good conscious, your hospitality until I've apologized. [ Bringing a hand to her chest, she bows her head slightly. And unlike any of the expressions she's given to him during the event, this one looks rightly apologetic and sorrowful. ] While I can say that Chroma effeced me... what I said was still callous and tactless, and I should have caught on sooner that something was wrong. So, I am deeply sorry for being rude.

Then she apologizes and he blinks, distracted from what he has been obsessing over for days. He considers their conversation and slowly inclines his head. ]
There was no offense on my side, but thank you. For the sake of people who have been hurt by what you thought would be the right thing, your apology is appreciated and accepted.
[ He cannot speak about all, or even most of them. But he has spent years, and still will, trying to bring peace to many such. And he understands. ]
Have you... cut many trees? Wei Ying thought that may be connected with the changes.
no subject
As for the trees, I cut down a good amount for the church... [ It's followed by a look of guilt. ] --And, I enlisted... others' help in cutting them down to help with its repairs. [ Wow. If the trees really were the cause, then her asking for help to harvest wood for repairs makes her quite the unwitting culprit as well. ] How did he make the connection, if you don't mind my asking?
no subject
But the latter part is easier
and less embarrassingto respond to. ]Trees have malevolent energy, and earlier in the month people who spent time near the edge of the forest have fainted, he said. The trees are acting differently, and there are changes to people. I think that is why the conclusion.
[ There are many ways in which he and Wei Ying misunderstand each other. But when it comes to identifying and taking down dangers, they don't often need words, for all that Wei Ying provides plenty of those sometimes. ]
no subject
But goodness, this makes her responsible for a lot of people being effected by the event. Looks like she'll have to be more careful in the future, or, perhaps, not get others involved with whatever it is that she's doing. ]
Even after all this time, the trees are still encroaching on the town... If we can't cut them down without harming or cursing ourselves, we still don't have an effective solution to deal with them.
no subject
[ He's not good at comforting words. Only, sometimes, being able to tell that they may be needed. So he tries, in his way. Not her fault, there was no way she could have known it would become so. ]
They are dangerous. Wei Ying [ the slightest pause, but there is little change in his expression, at least, ] said he will look into other ways to suppress them.
no subject
But nothing had come of it, so she's left in the dark regarding all cultivator things. There might as well be no universal translator provided by Chroma in regards to whatever symbols are written there. ]

These are for experimenting with him. Different sects, different traditions, different knowledge. Might be able to help him.
[ His fingers move from the talismans to the schematics. ]
These are because my housemate is worried someone might attack, and I am trying to reproduce protective arrays that I know which will require regular maintenance from me, but not constant use of energy to maintain the protection.

She seems to remember something, and quickly her expression softens into a new smile. So he had been wanting to collaborate with Wei Wuxian? ] Hehe~ I'm happy you're getting along with him again. That's good... and you're doing things for your roommate too. You're adjusting really well to this place. That's wonderful news.
[ She shakes her head, still smiling. ] You seemed so ill when you opened the door, but maybe I'm just worrying for nothing.
no subject
He shakes his head. ]
Used to be different, but now only disagree on very specific things. Learned to trust his judgment. ... learned a little too slowly.
[ Generally, at this point they disagree mostly on each of them, usually Wei Ying, taking care of himself. The rest, chances are that WangJi will yield to Wei Ying's decision, or negotiate it until he can accept it.
Whether or not Wei Ying is aware of that yet... ]
And not ill.
[ Just worried ill. And yes, that's ever while he trusts Wei Ying's judgment. Which is why he hasn't torn down Chroma to organize a search party. ]
Cultivators... do not fall ill easily.
no subject
But since she is not a cultivator like any of the four here, and she is not a disciple, she supposes she must keep further questions she has to herself. ]
Well, so long as you say you're alright... [ She smiles at him, and nods, in the end grateful that he's accepted her apology. ] Let me know if you need anything else, help or otherwise.
no subject
Yes. He's worried sick.
And she's not wrong about her perception from Shen QingQiu, not at all.
WangJi gently sets the rabbit down to cup his palms in a greeting to her. ]
Thank you, Pyra. And you as well, if you need anything.
