Phos was surely as numb and unresponsive as he was, logically, but logic does little to corral his feelings. And he'd wanted to be the one to kiss them, too, on top of that... What a waste.

Lupin thinks that the bond has to be a little bit closer than "someone you know personally" - going ahead and saying "it's probably only people you really care for" might put them in an embarrassing spot, though. ]
